Caesura is a software project for organizing AI reasoning, evidence, memory and tools around a Human-set purpose. Its Tree of Understanding defines how those parts relate and how consequential action stays under Human authority.
The Tree of Understanding
Caesura is the whole Tree. Sura is its primary reasoning seat. Cambium is the apprentice learning seat: a subordinate role for observation, critique and learning through governed experience.
The Human sets purpose, authorizes consequential action and judges the actual result.

Conversation is exploration. Graft or Scion commits Human purpose. Governed development explores candidates within consequential boundaries.
Information flow: Evidence moves up from reality through the Tree. Purpose moves down from the Human through governance. Information travels in both directions; Cambium’s learning flow carries observation, learning and feedback.
State records the Tree’s present condition; memory retains history and context. The reasoning substrate serves the Tree and does not outrank it.

Canonical Reconvergence is complete. Launcher, Root Floor and reconciliation work were brought back into one canonical main, and superseded implementation lines were retired.
Root Floor Closure is the current gate: proving when fresh Reality is required, when ordinary cognition is legitimate, and whether those decisions survive review and delivery.
Tree Floor re-proof waits until Gate 1 closes.
The Editor now has a working development interface. That is real implementation, but it does not mean the Editor Branch Floor or the larger Tree is closed.
Gate 0: the Human accepted the canonical reconverged realization and the project returned to one physical Caesura.
Gate 1 characterization: deterministic Root Floor machinery passed its defined tests once the correct grounding requirement was present, but live governed turns exposed a remaining problem: current or explicitly verified claims can still be classified as ordinary cognition and bypass evidence binding.
Closure status: Gate 1 cannot truthfully close on the current evidence. The characterization also found that the Root decision is not yet carried as structured governed state across reentry and upward to the Human-facing Leaf.
What that means: the foundational gate remains open even while bounded branch work continues. Implementation activity and architectural closure are tracked separately.
Editor: a working conversation/editor interface is now implemented in development. The intended Branch grows toward governed media ingest, transcript-aware editing, Resolve output, live OBS observation and delivery. The page does not claim that full path is complete or Branch-floor proven.
Cambium: Cambium remains the architectural apprentice learning seat. A live operational implementation is not claimed here.
Public artifact: the full-size Tree above is included for review. No private repository, software release, or download is exposed.
Growth you can point to
The Editor is the first visible specialized Branch taking shape around real media work. The development interface now exists; the larger target is one governed workspace spanning conversation, media, transcript, edit and delivery.
Truth boundary: a working interface and existing editing machinery are not the same as a finished, qualified Branch.
Cambium is intended to observe governed work across the Tree, learn from qualified episodes and grow without becoming an authority. Its role is architecturally defined, but live runtime implementation and qualification remain future work.
Authority boundary: Sura remains primary reasoning; Caesura governs; the Human authorizes.
